Obama the anti-envronmetalist

I'm sure you all remember that the Obama EPA recently shut down the only operating lead smelter in the United States causing a lot of us Second Amendment supporters to raise concerns about back door gun control. But the Law of Unintended Consequences, a cousin of Karma, raises it's ugly little head again. This is going to raise the price of the lead-acid batteries that are used by those who want to have their own photo-voltaic power back up on their homes or RVs. This, making it more difficult for clean, solar energy to be readily available, coupled with Obama's recent edict that, for the next thirty years, its okay to chop eagles into avian sushi, makes a person ask the question, "Why does Obama hate the environment?"

Voluntary Collection Agent Shot And Injured In Attempt To Gather Funds For Re-Distribution.

I'm sure that there will soon be a cry from our friends on 'The Left' that an "Obama Youth Protection Act" is needed to protect those individuals imbued with the spirit of collectivism and who are thwarted in their attempts to privately redistribute wealth.
The family of a suspect who was shot by an armed customer while attempting to rob a Family Dollar store in Mobile, Alabama earlier this month told Fox 10 that the Good Samaritan should not have gotten involved and “just left the store.” It was Tuesday, Nov. 12, when the armed citizen, whose identity has not been revealed, noticed 18-year-old Adric White wearing a mask and pointing a gun at employees towards the front of the store. “He had the gun to his head. He had him on his knees,” the man said. “I drew my gun on him and I said ‘Hey, don’t move.’ At that point he swung around and before he had a chance to aim the gun at me, I fired.”

Fascism in the Obama administration (An old post that I hadn't published)

I found this while browsing the net, be sure to read the entire thing.

Obama Taking Us On Path To Fascism

By HERB DENENBERG, For The Bulletin
Monday, October 26, 2009
During the last presidential campaign, I said there was a light whiff of fascism coming from the Obama campaign. That was based on its habit of improperly trying to repress criticism of every kind. Example: A Chicago radio station was planning on airing a critic of President Obama, who was publicizing the candidate’s close association with terrorist Bill Ayres. The Obama campaign organized a call-in campaign to flood the station with calls and prevent the critic from being heard. Anther example: The Obama campaign warned that any critics in Missouri would be subjected to prosecution there if they voiced criticism that was not true. There was a "Barack Obama Truth Squad” made up of prosecutors and sheriffs to keep critics in line, promising rebuttals and prosecution in appropriate cases (NewsBusters, September 29, 2008).

Now that whiff has turned into a strong stench of fascism, as the Obama Administration uses the vast resources of the federal government to squelch criticism and silence and intimidate critics. Here are some of the recent examples of that:

• The administration has organized a concerted campaign to marginalize, demonize, de-legitimize and destroy Fox Cable News simply because it, virtually alone among broadcast outlets, originates strong criticism of the Obama Administration and asks tough questions about what it is trying to do. Obama spokesmen, including Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Senior Advisor David Axelrod have said, in effect, that Fox is just an arm of the Republican Party and is not a legitimate news organization. Obama spokesmen say the station has a perspective. There are several answers to this. First, its news programs (as opposed to its opinion and commentary programs featuring the likes of Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck) pre- sent both sides of issues in a fair and balanced manner, and that has been confirmed by the survey of a respected research organization.

• When a health insurance company that marketed Medicare policies tried to warn its policyholders that Obamacare would hurt seniors’ insurance programs, the Department of Health and Human Services issued on a gag order on such communications with policyholders. It also said that the warning was misleading, which it was not. The gag order was since revoked, but its initial promulgation tells you something about the mentality of the White House and its attitude toward criticism.

The Electoral College

I've been hearing (reading on the blogs and in the news) that the electoral college needs to be replaced; maybe. but it doesn't need to go to a direct popular vote because as Jawa Report put it..it would become a vote of urban vs rural....all a candidate has to do is to appeal to the population centers of the country and he's elected.  NO, what the problem is, is the assignment of electors to the vote for the president.  The cry we've always heard is one man...one vote (how well does that work out for you with voter fraud?)  Here's my idea...One state, One vote...the candidate running for president must win the majority of votes in each of  26 states (a simple majority of the states plus one) to be elected. The size, the population of the state doesn't matter....candidates must campaign in each and every state to secure that state's approval...the people will also feel that their vote counts and be more apt to get out and vote on election day.

After Obama: The Coming Reign of Incredibly Small Government

By Andrew K. Boyle
A national election always triggers an onslaught of political books claiming that the next several decades will belong to the party which just swept into power.  These books are laughably wrong, usually being discarded and discredited by the next election night.  This election is no different, and books are being finished right now which explain why events in history will be marked henceforth as Before Obama and After Obama.  There are other books being edited currently which will be the obituary of the GOP, claiming that Barack Obama killed the great elephant on his way back from killing Osama bin Laden.  The byproducts of both responses to the 2012 election will in short order be discarded, but for reasons far outside politics.

The future is dramatically conservative, in a very uncomfortable and dark way.  This conservative future is inevitable -- not because of political events, but because of societal trajectory.  If political events are man taking flight, the conservative future is characteristically similar to gravity.
----------------------------
The future is one of incredibly small government -- not in the virtuous, self-reliant Republic sort of way, but in the tragic "government crashes into the January fiscal cliff and explodes" sort of way.  The grand programs instituted under the guise of moral superiority will abruptly end amongst the shrapnel of audacious government meeting the rocky cliffs of nature's reality.  If entitlements and social programs are tinkered with to conform to budget realities, it is cheap and easy to condemn them as mean or racist or some such thing within the political arena.  If these programs stop abruptly because they have been purposefully grown to ridiculously unsustainable levels, those who refused to scale back well-intentioned programs when offered the chance will be responsible for the primitive violence engulfing our cities.  The new and less noble beasts prowling the once-peaceful streets will be the creation of insane spending and decades of dishonest and vain politics.

I shouldn't be saying this, I worry about my grand children and great grand children to come, but I really hope the coming revolution is a "hot one". As Thomas Jefferson wrote in a letter to James Madison, " A Little Rebellion Now and Then Is A Good Thing." I think it's time...

On Tax increases

I've  been reading a lot  from those inside the beltway Republican office holders, power brokers and"Conservative Media " types who say that the Republicans now in office should just go along with the up coming Obama tax increases. NO Way should any Republican ever, EVER vote for an Obama tax increase...either vote against it or abstain..let the Democrats OWN ALL TAX INCREASES.
